Define Your Internship Goals

Before you may even begin thinking about locating an internship, you should spend time considering your goals for getting an internship.
1. What are your individual career interests? An internship is the best tool to assist you to determine your career goals. For instance, when you are majoring in history, but you are interested in a political career, you could reflect on an internship with a state or local politician. Or, an internship may assist further to refine your career targets. For instance, if you are a marketing major but you are not sure whether you wish to go into public or advertising relations, you need to consider obtaining internships in both fields to help you choose which is ideal for you.
2. What are your purposes of getting an internship? There are many reasons for taking an internship. Possible reasons comprise learning new skills, obtaining work experience to your résumé, getting networking connections, and as an admission point, which you hope moves to a full-time possibility with employers after your graduation.
3. In what sort of organization are you interested? All organizations come in various shapes and sizes, from Fortune 500 agencies to uncommercial organizations. What are you searching for? Issues to think about take in size, corporate culture, ownership, etc.
